Techno Park Campinas increases its jobs despite the pandemic

Despite the changes in work routines and the direct impact on the country's economic sector generated by the pandemic, the Techno Park Campinas Technological Park had an increase of 4% in its jobs in 2020, presenting 4.741 formal employees.

Many of the installed companies had to restructure themselves to ensure their active employees. Adopting the home office as a safe strategy was inevitable, which resulted in a significant reduction in the number of people accessing the Techno Park.

However, even with a small drop in the number of jobs at installed companies, which in 2021 fell to 4,686, it was still possible to maintain a growth progression, compared to 2018.

We obtained the data in the elaboration of the Techno Park Campinas Annual Activity Report.

THE Links mapped and compiled the data for this report and your insights demonstrate the hard work of ASSOCITECH, the park's managing body.

ASSOCITECH supports the operation of companies and their relationship within the CT&I (Science, Technology and Innovation) ecosystem. Furthermore, the availability of infrastructure serves the 52 technology-based companies installed in the park.

Among the total number of companies, the mapping pointed to a plurality of activity segments, showing a significant percentage in eight different areas.

In first place, the Automation, Automotive and Embedded Electronics sector stands out, with 27% of these establishments.

“Linkages' mapping not only raises the Park's essential results, but also makes it possible to improve the visibility of resident companies for a possible synergy between ventures with compatible interests. Furthermore, it gives more space to this plurality of sectors in which the companies in the Park operate”, exposes Jose Luiz Guazzelli, director of the Techno Park Campinas Technology Park.

Techno Park Campinas RD&I Results

According to the mapping, we can observe the activities of the Park regarding the results of RD&I (Research, Development and Innovation).

We mapped 7 licensed technologies, 15 generated and 81 granted patents and the results demonstrate the positive efforts of the Park in solidifying and expanding deposits with the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI).

An example of performance within the Park with R&D (Research and Development) is the company Ecolab. Success case, the Ecolab is a global leader in water, hygiene, energy and services solutions and services that provide and protect pure water. As well as safe food, abundant energy and healthy environments.

The location of the Technological Park allows the installed company to connect with important innovation actors. Mainly, considering its strategic positioning and the fact that it is a national reference in high technology.

Furthermore, the municipality is the second in the state of São Paulo with the most startups, second only to the capital. And this strong attractiveness is directly linked to the concentration of important universities, such as Unicamp, a partner of the Techno Park.

Importance of mapping

The elaboration of an Annual Report represents a step forward in data management and improvement of the activities of the Park's processes. With the installation of 63 companies, it is essential that these enterprises can connect and be aware of the activities of neighboring companies. Even for the possibility of promoting collaborations and expanding jobs.

THE Links performs research and mapping services to Techno Park Campinas since 2018, mainly in matters related to technological development and innovation. In addition, it also collaborates with the Park's CT&I Committee in the preparation and implementation of the Strategic Plan.
